JOURNEY
I glance behind me, watching my footprint disappear into the sand almost as quickly as it appears. I am leaving no trace of where I have been or where I am going. Each step is created as it is taken, in the moment. I keep looking back as I put more weight in my step, as if that will help the trace of me become more permanent on the earth, but it doesn’t. Each step disappears as quickly as the first, second, and third. I look ahead, convinced I will not see a path behind me and I accept.
