I believe.
I started with one simple question, what do I believe? Five pages later I marveled at my own responses. I challenge you to write down what YOU believe. You will be surprised what comes easily, what makes you stop and think, and what scares you a little.
Here is a small sample of what I believe:
I believe there is gold at the end of the rainbow, but you must paint the colors first.
I believe in miracles if you're willing to listen and learn.
I believe the Universe is always watching and listening.
I believe there is darkness as deep as there is bright glorious light.
I believe you experience the uncomfortable to know the pleasant.
I believe grief can swallow you up, spit you out, and then come back years later for another round.
I believe we all have a purpose and that purpose is to live our passion.
I believe in respect for myself and for all living beings without boundaries or judgment. I believe that respect and judgment are the hardest to give to ourselves.
I believe in meditating and quieting your mind.
I believe in angels.
I believe you can be spiritual and not a tad bit religious.
I believe each day is a gift and as soon as you forget that, you'll be given something to remind you.
I believe moderation in all things is healthy.
I believe in wishing on a star, pinky promises, and getting the larger end of the wishbone.
I believe laughter and friendship can heal all.
I believe you can say anything if you come from a place of love.
I believe love is easy, marriage is a compromise, and friendship is trust.
I believe music inspires a creative mind.
I believe in family.
I believe in coloring outside of the lines.
I believe you can wear whatever you want if you wear it with confidence.
I believe creativity can be lonely.
I believe there is nothing like staying up way past your bedtime to reconnect with an old friend.
I believe you can never own too many shoes, even if you take over another closet.
I believe in the magic of a butterfly.
I believe God dwells inside us all.
I believe "life after" will be a lot like life now, but simpler.
I believe a good long hike has every answer you're looking for.
I believe in writing "thank you" cards.
I believe in positive affirmations, vision boards, and writing down what you want.
I believe in waiting 24 hours before confronting confrontation.
I believe in following your guidance system; aka your gut.
I believe the grass is never greener on the other side unless you water it.
I believe I'll never stop growing and learning.
I believe everyone deserves a surprise party, at least once in their life.
I believe in giving.
I believe Heaven and Hell are something we create.
I believe no kind word should go unsaid.
I believe in snuggling.
I believe a hot bath and a cup of tea can rejuvenate anyone.
I believe happiness is a choice.
I believe in telling your story, in your own time, in your own way.
Now go! What do YOU believe?
